Morocco To New York - Style to the Max
Last week our customer Sourya travelled to Morocco with her family. After seeing the pictures from her trip I was so jealous and added Morocco to my list of must see places. The colors and the designs were breathtaking and not to mention the architecture and local handicrafts. She had read a few blogs about what to wear there so she could be appropriately dressed. She took the Max poncho/scarf along to be prepared for any scenario. And it was a good thing she did! Not only did she wear it to cover her hair to visit the beautiful mosque in Casablanca but she needed it everywhere she went in Morocco. While she expected it to be hot (a happy contrast to New York) she found herself shivering in the unexpected cold. The Max came to her rescue by doubling up as a scarf/shawl and a poncho. She just threw it on over whatever she was wearing to keep warm.
Sourya wore the Max as a head scarf to show respect for the Islamic culture when she visited the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco
She wore it as a poncho to keep warm while posing in front of the ornate doors of one of the king's palaces in Meknes, Morocco
She experimented with the Max wearing it in this cute cape style
Enjoying the view of the Medina (Walled City) from her hotel in Fez, Morocco
She even lent the Max to her aunt to protect her from the cold inside the Medina in Fez, Morocco
When she got back to New York she though it would be fun to see how the Max can be worn in the city. She asked me to help and we had a lot of fun putting these outfits together. What could be a more classic location than the New Yorker in Midtown West. We wanted to embody the sophistication of a New York woman and kept the silhouettes clean and classic.
She wore the Max as a scarf with a soft pink coat and rain boots for a cute but practical look.
We styled it as this fun asymmetrical skirt with a simple white blouse that can be worn to go out for drinks and dancing. Sourya had a lot of fun twirling around in it.
We styled it as a cape over a simple dress. Capes have been extremely popular over the last year.
She wore it wrapped around with a crop top and belt for a classic work look.
Worn draped over the shoulders cinched at the waist with a belt, the Max can double as a cardigan.
Wearing it wrapped around the neck like a snood is always a classic look.
